Important livestock shipping notice
Livestock and coral orders are shipped using an overnight courier service where available. Due to the sensitive nature of live coral and aquarium livestock, dispatch may be delayed at our discretion if we consider shipping conditions unsuitable.
This may include severe weather, heat, cold, public holiday congestion, courier network congestion, extended delivery timeframes, or delivery locations where overnight service is not available or not reliable.
Where livestock shipping is unsuitable, we may offer an alternative dispatch date, refund, store credit, or another shipping option such as airport-to-airport freight where available. Any alternative freight option may require a separate quote.
This policy applies to shipping and local pickup for purchases from South East Frags through our website at https://southeastfrags.com.au.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Local pickup by appointment
Local pickup is available by appointment only.
After your order is placed, we will contact you to arrange a suitable pickup time. Please do not attend for pickup until an appointment has been confirmed.
For livestock and coral pickup orders, please inspect the item at pickup where possible. Once livestock or coral has been collected and accepted, change-of-mind returns are not accepted.
2. Livestock and coral shipping
Livestock and coral shipping is available using a fixed price premium overnight courier service with Authority to Leave (ATL).
Livestock shipping rate: $35 flat rate
This rate applies to livestock and coral orders shipped within eligible Australian delivery areas. If a cart contains both livestock and dry goods, the livestock shipping rate will usually apply to the order.
3. Authority to Leave (ATL)
Livestock and coral shipments are sent with Authority to Leave (ATL).
Because livestock is time-sensitive, it is generally better for the parcel to be left in a suitable location at the delivery address rather than being taken to a depot, collection point, post office or other holding location where processing and collection may take longer.
By placing a livestock or coral shipping order, you acknowledge that ATL delivery is used because of the nature of the goods and that courier handling, delivery timing, weather and location conditions may affect livestock shipments.
Please ensure the delivery address is suitable for ATL delivery and that someone is available to check the delivery as soon as possible after arrival.

4. No PO box delivery
We do not ship livestock, coral or dry goods orders to PO boxes.
Please provide a physical delivery address at checkout. If a PO box address is provided, we may contact you for an alternative address before dispatching the order.
5. Regional and extended delivery areas
Some regional, remote or extended delivery areas may not be covered by standard overnight courier service.
If the estimated delivery time is longer than we consider suitable for livestock or coral, we may delay dispatch, cancel and refund the order, offer store credit, or discuss an alternative freight option with you.
Alternative freight options, such as airport-to-airport service, may be available for some locations and will be quoted separately where applicable.
6. Weather, courier congestion and dispatch discretion
We may delay livestock or coral dispatch if we consider shipping conditions unsuitable.
This may include, but is not limited to:
- extreme heat
- extreme cold
- severe weather
- public holiday periods
- courier network congestion
- known courier delays
- locations with extended delivery timeframes
- other conditions that may affect livestock welfare during transit
If we delay dispatch, we will contact you to discuss the next suitable shipping window or available options.
7. Dry goods shipping
Dry goods shipping is calculated based on weight.
- Dry goods up to 5kg: $15
- Dry goods over 5kg: $25
Dry goods may be shipped separately from livestock where appropriate.
8. Mixed carts
At our discretion, we may split an order into separate shipments. For example, livestock may be shipped by overnight courier while dry goods may be shipped separately by standard postage.
9. Bulk items and quote-required shipping
Some products may be marked as bulk items or shipping quote required.
If a cart contains a bulk or quote-required item, automatic shipping calculation may not apply. We will contact you after order review to confirm the shipping cost or available delivery options.
If the final shipping cost or delivery option is not suitable, we may cancel and refund the order before dispatch.
If a bulk item is included with livestock or dry goods, shipping will generally be treated as quote required.
10. Dispatch timing
We aim to dispatch orders as soon as reasonably practical, but dispatch timing may depend on product availability, livestock condition, payment confirmation, suitable weather, courier availability and delivery location.
For PayID or bank transfer payments, orders will be processed once payment has cleared.
11. Delivery issues
If there is an issue with delivery, please contact us as soon as possible at sales@southeastfrags.com.au.
For livestock or coral DOA claims, you must contact us on the same day as delivery and provide the information requested under our DOA Guarantee, Refund, and Returns Policy.
