Description
Polyspun Sediment Water Filter 10" x 2.5" – 0.5 Micron
This 10" x 2.5" 0.5 micron polyspun sediment filter is a replacement pre-filter cartridge for compatible standard RO and RODI filtration systems. It is designed to help capture fine sediment, dirt, rust and other suspended particles before the water reaches later filtration stages.
For aquarium RO/DI systems, the sediment filter is an important first stage. It helps protect carbon blocks, RO membranes and DI resin by reducing the amount of particulate matter entering the system. This supports better filtration performance and can help extend the life of downstream cartridges when replaced regularly.
Common Uses
- Replacement sediment filter for compatible RO/RODI systems
- Reef aquarium RO/DI water production
- Freshwater aquarium water preparation
- Pre-filtration before carbon block cartridges
- Pre-filtration before RO membranes
- Water change and ATO reservoir water preparation
- General low-pressure water filtration applications

Installation Notes
- Check that your filter housing accepts standard 10" x 2.5" cartridges before purchasing.
- Install as the first pre-filter stage before carbon block cartridges and the RO membrane.
- Flush the cartridge before using the filtered water for aquariums or other sensitive applications.
- Replace regularly based on water usage, source water quality and your RO/DI system maintenance schedule.
- If water pressure drops noticeably, the sediment filter may be clogged and due for replacement.
Note: Filter life and performance can vary depending on source water quality, sediment levels, water pressure, flow rate and total water usage. For reef aquarium use, this cartridge is commonly used as the first stage in a complete RO/DI filtration system.
